Real Estate Is a One Way Trip to the Poorhouse

He is not making any more of it!And it is interesting to note that if you study the lives of some of the wealthiest people in the country, past and present, you will find that even though there is a diversity of investments and businesses, one common thread in almost every one of them is real estate. I mentioned in the first session, about how many of us have thought at one time or another, “Man, why didn’t I buy that piece of real estate back when?” What makes us think that things will be different ten years from now if we don’t act and start buying real estate now? I believe ten years from now, well be wishing we had bought more real estate when “prices were so cheap.”Most of the time, we don’t take action because we don’t know how or where to get the money. These foreclosure real estate properties are now termed as “real estate owned”.Since foreclosure real estate properties are cheaper compared to brand new homes, they present much potential and possibilities. Aside from this, foreclosure real estate properties have been growing in number during the last couple of years mainly due to the rising cost of living, increasing interest rates and other economic factors. This means more foreclosure homes to choose from. With the economy looking wobbly, the stock market plunging and the big investment banks going under, with us bailing them out, some traditional forms of retirement investing are starting to look a little sick. For these reasons IRA real estate investments are increasing. Increasing? Surely not. Along with an economic meltdown, a stock market collapse and all sorts of economic turmoil, isn’t the real estate market headed for oblivion as well? Who in their right mind would consider investing their IRA in real estate?Surely in 2008 real estate is a one way trip to the poorhouse.
